Web Design explained
Web Design is the process of designing web pages that are linked together in a particular flow that helps readers browse from one page to the next with ease. The web pages form a website for a particular genre company or organisation. The web design pages are viewed with web browsers, which are applications that know how to render the code that the web pages are written in. Typical web browsers are Mozilla Firefox, Safari (Apple Mac), Chrome (Google), Internet Explorer (Microsoft).
Pages are designed in such a fashion that they are rendered on varying screen sizes with some web design pages being fixed to a particular size. The web design pages contain images, text from articles or paragraphs which are hyperlinked to each other. The readers use their browser to read the content and click on the web design pages to follow the story or information.
Web design that has been created effectively should factor in the speed of the pages to load over varying Internet connection speeds, usability, accessibility and framework layout. Traditional web design combines the code and content text altogether. As a result, whenever one needs to make changes to ones content, as one should on a regular basis, the web design needs to be re-coded by experts in programming skills to do so. This can become a costly exercise especially if you require regular updates, luckily there is a smarter way to implement a web design, namely through a content management system (CMS).
Traditional web design versus latest Content Management Systems
Fortunately advances in technology has resulted in the development of database driven dynamic web designs. Pages are called from a database and rendered as dynamic content as and when required. Content Management Systems (CMS) is the next evolution in the use of database web designs.
The key difference between traditional web designs and content management systems is that the CMS's separate out the content and store it in a database, while the style (page colour, font type etc) is contained in a separate file known as Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). The CSS file is called upon to determine the contents style before the browser renders the information. The use of CSS has enabled web designers to quickly and easily make changes to the content without too much re-coding.
Candyman Productions uses the award winning Joomla Content Management System that is developed using the latest technologies and has a growing community of over 200,000 members globally.
